Juventus vs AC Milan Preview
Juventus and AC Milan clash in a high stakes semi-final on Friday as both teams will be eager to qualify for the final of the Italian Super Cup.
Juventus vs AC Milan Form
Thiago Motta's Juventus have had a mixed run of form this season, unbeaten in Serie A yet nine points behind league leaders Atalanta.
They have won just four of their last ten games in all competitions and have been defensively vulnerable with two clean sheets in their last seven matches in all competitions.
However, Juventus have been in good goal scoring form with 2+ goals scored in six consecutive games including a 2-0 UEFA Champions League win over Premier League champions Man City.
While they are unbeaten in 14 games in all competitions, nine of those games have been draws while their last five league matches have featured both teams to score.
AC Milan come into fixture on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to AS Roma in the Serie A which saw the sacking of Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca.
They have now won just five of their last ten games in all competitions.
AC Milan have looked out of ideas in the final third with a total of three goals scored in their last four league games and have underperformed their xG having scored 26 goals from 28.3 xG.
They have also struggled defensively as they kept four clean sheets in their last ten games in all competitions while four of their last six league games have featured under 2.5 goals.
Juventus vs AC Milan Predictions
AC Milan's new head coach Sergio Conceicao is well known for his solid defensive principles and could find joy in neutralizing Thiago Motta's free scoring Juventus.
As the last seven head to head matches between both teams have featured under 2.5 goals, I'll be backing the trend.
Verdict
Under 2.5 goals has been a theme in this matchup and I'm backing that trend to continue.
